Welcome to the consultation website on our proposals for Widewater House

We are proposing a change of use at Widewater House to provide an open community hub, with occassional religious use, rooted in the Hujjat community’s longstanding tradition of philanthropy and service, fostering innovation and wellbeing for people of all backgrounds.
The proposals will provide a range of facilities for the whole community, including co-working space, a café and bookable indoor recreational space for community groups.
Community engagement is at the heart of our proposals. We want to ensure that the proposals understand the local character of Harefield and can best serve its needs.

Who we are
We are the Hujjat community, a branch of Islam which has a proud history in Britain of charitable giving and community investment.
We are an outward looking community that fosters interfaith initiatives and integration.
We have a longstanding track-record of delivering charity and community focused support to both our members and wider society. Examples of our initiatives include Hand on Heart (HoH), a charity we founded in 2018 to provide essential supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness. We’ve also partnered with Suffra Foodbank, a charity working to combat hunger and poverty, and we have recently agreed a partnership with Wealdstone FC, a sponsorship which is invaluable to the local football club’s future within the football league.
Through our proposals for a community hub at Widewater House, we can continue to develop our charitable initiatives, in addition to benefitting the wider community within Harefield and Hillingdon.

Where we are

Widewater House sits within the Widewater Place Business Park in Harefield, neighbouring the Grand Union Canal. The 2–3 storey building is part of a small cluster of offices, just off Moorhall Road.

Listening to the needs of Harefield, and respecting its unique character

Facilitating and supporting local charity and education initiatives, with flexible workspaces for small business seminars, after-school tutoring and other community activities

Supporting local wellbeing with multi-purpose halls for exercise and social clubs

Collaboration with local businesses, charities and faith groups to create meaningful social and economic contributions for Harefield

A sustainable change of use proposal, with minimal intervention or impact on the environment

Benefits for the local community

The mixed-use space will create a number of benefits for the local community, providing co-working options for small businesses and facilities for local community groups to book and use.
To ensure our facilities are accessible to all, we are proposing the following:
Additionally, our proposals will benefit the local economy and create £2.8 million net additional gross value added per year upon completion of the project.

Our place in Hillingdon

Wealdstone Football Club Signing

The Hujjat Community is proud to have supported Wealdstone Football Club by signing a new community partnership which secured the club’s future at its Grosvenor Vale home, marking the start of a shared journey to foster friendship, collaboration and community spirit.

The landmark agreement ensured Wealdstone FC’s continued presence in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Beyond football, the partnership will see joint events and youth initiatives designed to strengthen local ties, engage young people, and support grassroots sport.
We also engaged with local councillors to raise awareness of the partnership and the benefits it would bring for the local community, and local MP Danny Beales announced the agreement at Grosvenor Vale.
